Is your digital air machine profitable?

By | News, updates | No Comments

Do you know how much revenue your air machine brings in each month? What about the amount of revenue your air machine has made this month right up to this exact moment? If you’re using Excel Tire Gauge Digital Air Machines, you can answer these questions immediately thanks to our Wireless Monitoring System.

How to find out if your air machine is profitable

Through our Wireless Monitoring System, Excel Tire Gauge provides real-time access to your air machine’s revenue by coin and credit/debit card when you access our Portal. You can access this Portal using any computer or phone that is convenient for you. This makes gathering data and managing multiple machines at multiple locations incredibly easy.

You do not have to visit every location and check each machine individually to find out how much money each air machine made over time, how many coins are in each air machine’s vault, or how much revenue you gained via credit card payment. In competitive industries like the c-store, tire shop, auto rental, dealership, and fleet management industries, this provides you with more time and more accurate data – both of which can be used to your advantage.

What makes Excel Tire Gauge air machines more profitable?

The Wireless Monitoring System is not the only advantage you get when you use an Excel Tire Gauge air machine! After all, our machines are typically used 30% more often than the competition’s machines. This is partially because our products are loaded with great features that make them easier to use, improving customer experience and promoting repeat business.

  1. Excel Technology – Our air machine comes with an advanced-tech calibration head that automatically inflates or deflates a tire to within 0.5 PSI of the user’s desired pressure. As a result, customers who use Excel Tire Gauge air machines are more likely to return for future tire inflations. This can increase pay air sales up to 45% vs. regular air inflators.
  2. Credit Card Machine – This feature gives the customer another option to pay for air and vacuum services. Not everyone carries quarters in their car these days and this feature ensures that those coinless customers do not turn away from your location. In 2019 46% of revenue from Excel Air Machines were with a credit card.
  3. Vacuum – You can offer more services to your customers by adding the vacuum attachment. This is another feature that customers will appreciate!

Moving Forward as the World Battles COVID-19

By | Events, News, updates | No Comments

As the United States and the world are taking precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we are taking similar measures to keep our team healthy and to do our part in keeping the public safe. While we continue to monitor the situation, our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by this pandemic.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend any trade shows until June 1 as we have barred our sales team for traveling for the next few months. While we were looking forward to connecting with many of the professionals in the industries we serve, we understand the potential impact and concern over this outbreak.

We also understand that for many of our customers, the show must go on. Many of the businesses in the convenience store, tire shop, fleet, auto rental, and dealership industries are still open and it is our responsibility to serve them. We plan to continue to do just that.

We may not be able to interact face to face at trade shows as we had planned, but we would love an opportunity to speak with any current or potential customers via phone or email.

You can click here if you would like to get in touch with us:

There are currently no expected delays in our building, shipping, and servicing process.

While we plan to continue operating under our regular schedule, we will also follow local government regulations as well as CDC and WHO guidelines for social distancing and sanitation. We are also taking extra precautions to protect our employees who are over 50 or have underlying medical conditions.

While there is a lot of concern over the effects of COVID-19 on public health and the economy, it is our goal to be part of the solution. This is why we plan to continue to serve the businesses that rely on us while taking the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of this virus.

Stay safe everyone.

Burt Brothers is Among The Latest Tire Shops To Install Excel Products

By | Events, News, updates | No Comments

Utah’s own Burt Brothers Tire & Service is among the latest tire shop chains to offer free air to its customers. Just like RNR Tire Express and Mavis Discount Tire, Burt Brothers has turned to Excel Tire Gauge, America’s Leader in Digital Air Inflation, as its digital air machine provider.

The tire shop brand installed its first custom-decaled SC05-SS Classic Series digital air machine in 2019 and owner Wendel Burt is pleased with the results so far.

“I really like the machine and I think it will no doubt be a positive addition to our business,” Burt said. “The machine is working perfectly for us.”

While the SC05s have been running cleanly and efficiently for Burt Brothers, they are also helping the company attract new customers, increase customer loyalty, and improve their tire shop efficiency.

“We are excited to work with Burt Brothers in changing the way they help their customers,” said Roger Audette, Director of Sales/Marketing at Excel Tire Gauge. “Burt Brothers joins a growing number of tire shop chains that are trying to capture this new audience of DIY-type drivers. Not only are they excited about adding this valuable service, but they are already benefiting from increased shop efficiency.”

Part of the appeal behind Excel air machines is how easy it is to use them. Excel Tire Gauge’s advanced-tech calibration head may sound complicated by name, but it is really simple for both tire techs and customers to use this technology.

To operate any Excel Tire Gauge product, all the user needs to do is set the target PSI. The machine will automatically inflate the tire to within 0.5 PSI of the desired pressure. There is no need to pre-deflate the tire or shut the unit off as it reaches its goal.

With the increased number of tire shops offering free air for customers, Excel Tire Gauge is excited to be a part of creating a new SOP (standard operating procedure) in this industry. To Burt Brothers’ benefit, offering this new digital service is likely to increase ROI and traffic to its 12 locations.

More specifically, the decision to provide free air will bring in vehicle-savvy customers who take care of their cars, trucks, and motorcycles. This is the perfect target audience for Burt Brothers’ other services which presents the tire shop with a great opportunity to increase its revenue.

About Burt Brothers Tire & Service
After its founding in 1991 by Wendel & Ron Burt, Burt Brothers Tire & Service has become the leader in automotive services along Utah’s Wasatch Front.

The company is known for having the best, most knowledgeable, and most skilled technicians & team members, and the most up-to-date tools & equipment in the area.

New Partnership: RNR Tire Express is Teaming up With Excel Tire Gauge

By | News, updates | No Comments

RNR Tire Express corporate is partnering with Excel Tire Gauge to provide free air to its customers. The national tire retailer installed its first two SC05-SS Classic Series air machines at its Clearwater, Florida location in the Fall of 2019. Our two companies are working together to promote Excel Tire Gauge’s equipment at RNR’s franchise locations.

“We are very excited about this new partnership and excited to be part of a new standard operating procedure in regards to tire pressure maintenance,” said Roger Audette, Director of Sales and Marketing at Excel Tire Gauge.

Installing Excel Tire Gauge digital air machines should prove to be a smart strategic move for RNR. Tire shops that choose Excel products often experience improved customer loyalty as Excel air machines are used 30% more often than the competition’s machines. This is likely because customers appreciate the faster and easier tire filling process that Excel products provide.

RNR Tire Express is adding to this effect by using custom decals on their SC05-SS air machines. This will help customers associate their positive inflation experience with the RNR brand.

Providing customers with digital air machines creates a unique opportunity for tire shops. While providing customers with free air is not as common among the tire shop industry, over 860 million people fill their tires at gas stations each year. Tire shops like RNR who are savvy enough to provide air inflation to customers can tap into this massive audience, bringing more traffic to their stores.

Additionally, some of the customers who stop at tire shops like RNR to inflate their tires are bound to find that one of their tires is damaged, leaking, or otherwise can not hold air. Conveniently, the customer will be able to walk right into the store and schedule a tire change. While this will not be the case for all customers, any opportunity to bring in more traffic is an opportunity to make a sale.

17th Annual RNR Tire Express Franchise Conference and Expo

As part of this partnership, our team will attend RNR Tire Express’s annual franchise meeting at the Airport Renaissance in Tampa on January 19-21. We will have a booth at the show where we will also donate a free SC05-SS air machine to one lucky RNR franchisee!

We are excited to meet with RNR’s franchise partners, operators, and store managers to celebrate the tire retailer’s accomplishments in 2019. We look forward to personally meeting some of the hardworking professionals at RNR and welcoming them into our family of partners. More importantly, we are excited to be a part of RNR’s success through 2020 and beyond.

About RNR Tire Express

RNR Tire Express is a national franchise retailer of quality tires and custom wheels offered with convenient, affordable payment options designed to fit each customer’s unique budget. Established in 2000 as RENT-n-ROLL, RNR has grown to 126 locations in 24 states.

At RNR Tire Express it has never been easier to get the tires and wheels you want. In addition to offering the largest selection of brand name tires and wheels, RNR also provides exceptional customer service and FREE professional installation.

Saying Goodbye to 2019 and Hello to 2020

By | News, updates | No Comments

While we’re excited for all of the great things that are coming up in 2020, we wanted to take some time to reflect on our incredible year of growth in 2019.

This year, we sold over 6,800 machines, resulting in a 28% increase in gross sales. We added 300 new site locations along the way and secured some big-time partnerships with companies like Global Partners LP, Hennessy Industries, and RNR Tire Express.

To account for our growth in sales, we invested in a brand new workspace and hired 12 new team members. Four of those employees were former members of our team that we are thrilled to welcome back to the Excel Tire Gauge family.

Despite all we’ve grown, we don’t plan on stopping here. As you may have noticed, our website got a fresh new look that will improve customer communications and continue to develop along with our marketing efforts. We also overhauled our social media marketing strategy to provide more valuable information to our customers. We have been much more active on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter lately.

Speaking of marketing, we really stepped up our game this year and created a new marketing team. Our internal team will work hand-in-hand with Integrated Media Group (IMG) to help grow our brand through 2020 and beyond. IMG is a full-service digital marketing agency that services hundreds of clients across the country to grow their revenue. We can’t wait to see what our new team of marketing experts can accomplish together.

While we were focusing on our digital marketing efforts, we also worked hard to market ourselves in person. Our team spent a lot of time on the road, traveling to businesses and trade shows to get in touch with some of our great customers and potential contacts face-to-face. We truly appreciated the opportunity to meet so many passionate and driven professionals in the convenience store, tire shop, fleet, auto rental, dealership, and car wash industries.

Not all of our travel was for marketing purposes. One of our favorite trips of this year was when we visited the Discount Tire Headquarters in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona to help fundraise for the Bruce T. Halle Assistance Fund. The incredible charity provides necessities such as shelter, food, and clothing to employees within the Discount Tire family while in transition from a disaster, fire, storm, or injury. The charity also covers medical bills for life-threatening illness or emergency treatment above what insurance covers.

In total, we attended close to 30 charity events throughout 2019. It always feels great to be able to help others in need and to be part of those efforts was a humbling experience.

As we look back on 2019, we would like to thank all of our customers and partners for helping to make this year special. We would also like to thank our incredible employees for all of the hard work they put in this year. We can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for us.

Global Partners LP Teams Up With Excel Tire Gauge For Revenue Sharing Deal

By | News, updates | No Comments

Excel Tire Gauge is proud to announce that we are partnering with Global Partners LP to provide the Global family of convenience stores with air machines and vacuum units. As part of a revenue-sharing deal, we have installed our equipment at some of Global Partners’ 300 gas station and convenience store locations across New England over the last 3-4 months so far.

“I’m excited about our growth potential with Excel Tire Gauge, and looking forward to working together to improve our air & vacuum revenue,” said Micah Smith, Director of Car Wash Operations for Global Partners LP.

The Global family, which includes Alltown, Alltown Fresh, Xtra Mart, and Honey Farms, is expected to experience a variety of benefits along with a boost in revenue. Traffic to these stores is predicted to increase as Excel digital air machines are typically used 30% more often than the competition’s machines. Customer loyalty is also expected to improve as customers will experience a faster and easier tire filling process. Custom branded decals on the machines will help customers associate Global Partners’ brands with a positive inflation experience.

Consumers who frequent the Global Family of Convenience Stores are expected to benefit from an easier, faster, and more precise tire filling experience along with the added convenience of having a vacuum nearby.

With this partnership, Global Partners LP is taking advantage of a great opportunity. An average of 250 million U.S. drivers pay to fill their tires at gas stations and convenience stores every year. Providing that audience with the best possible experience and technology is a move that has the potential to create long term sales increases.

For our team at Excel, this partnership provides a chance to increase revenue while helping us continue to improve our brand image in the Northeast. We are thrilled to associate ourselves with one of the strongest convenience store ownership groups in the region.

“Excel is excited to welcome Global Partners to our growing family,” said Roger Audette, Director of Sales & Marketing at Excel Tire Gauge. “We look forward to many years of success.”

Drive Safe this Thanksgiving – Your Turkey Day Travel Guide

By | News, updates | No Comments

Thanksgiving is a special holiday for many Americans and their families. People travel long distances to enjoy great food, celebrate the things they are thankful for, and spend time with friends and relatives they may not see often.

However, it is important to drive extra carefully during the Thanksgiving season as it is one of the most dangerous times of year for travel. About 400 fatal accidents occur each year on American roadways between 6:00 pm the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and 11:59 pm the Sunday after, according to The National Safety Council.

The following blog highlights some of the dangers involved in Thanksgiving travel while providing helpful tips from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) to help keep you safe.

The Dangers
There are a variety of factors that make the Thanksgiving season a more dangerous time to travel than other times of year. Increased traffic, distance traveled, and alcohol-impaired driving are some of the more noteworthy dangers.

One of the biggest risk factors associated with Thanksgiving travel is the sheer number of drivers that are on the road. Last year, over 48 million people traveled over 50 miles by car to celebrate Thanksgiving. With that many motorists on the road combined with the distractions that often come with long rides with family members, the chance that accidents will happen are bound to increase.

The increased traffic and consumption of alcohol that can be involved in Thanksgiving celebration is a dangerous combination. In 2016, alcohol-impaired driving was a factor in 28% of total traffic fatalities. During the Thanksgiving period of that year, alcohol-impaired driving was a factor in 34% of fatalities.

The night before Thanksgiving is one of the biggest drinking nights of the year. On “Thanksgiving Eve,” often referred to as Black Wednesday, it is common for young adults to visit hometown bars to catch up with old friends. While this may sound like a fun way to celebrate, this tradition creates a dangerous situation when responsible habits are not practiced. Bars report sales increases of 270% on beer and 114% on hard liquor while many areas see increases in drunk driving.

How to stay safe
Due to the increased level of danger associated with Thanksgiving driving, the NHTSA recommends that you take the following precautions:

We strongly recommend that you take these safety precautions and share these tips with friends and relatives this Thanksgiving season. We wish you all a happy and safe holiday.
